Was in the neighborhood and decided to give Los Gyros a try since they recently opened this location. They replaced the old Dominion bar but the sign was still up at the building corner. The atmosphere was pretty chill and they had a cool cosmic light in our area reminiscent of childhood bowling alleys. We noticed some lounge seating in the back if you want more of a hangout over drinks as opposed to table seats. I was surprised to find that they had a weekday special which was a buy one get one free deal for a taco on their menu (pork for the day we went). Not sure if this is advertised anywhere but it would make it a great way to get people to try the tacos for a good price. After ordering, we received a complimentary appetizer and the tray of sauces to sample. My favourite was the guacamole and the sweeter sauce made from fruits. One of the sauces was spicier but nothing unbearable for a mild palette. The meat was very well seasoned for all of the tacos. We ordered pork, chorizo, and beef tongue. The pineapple on the pork tacos added a sweetness that complimented the meat. The only drawback was the mushroom and cactus leaf taco seemed less flavourful than everything else we ordered. Service was super fast and efficient as most things came out quickly. Tacos are quite filling and it was great to be able to use the sauces on whichever one we liked. Most tacos could be purchased individually for 6-8 or in sets of 4 for 20. We did not try the drinks this visit, but I can see how a Mexican beer cocktail would pair perfectly with the food here! Would definitely return here again if we are craving tacos.

WOW! These tacos healed my Mexican homesickness... extremely recommend this place. This is now my favorite Mexican restaurant in Toronto. They have the best tacos and their arrachera taco was LEGIT! Their quesadillas were so cheesy and so good! And the chocoflan is HUGE and delicious 10/10

First time visiting this great restaurant. Orders were taken quick and was on the table in a very short amount of time. The atmosphere and the service was amazing. I already recommended for a couple of friends after dinning in just last night. Will visit again for sure.

Very happy to have Los Gyros in the neighbourhood. They have lots of staff which is rare nowadays and they are super friendly and on point. Food is always fresh. Live entertainment as well. Hopefully they will open up the patio soon.

As a Mexican girly, I can confidently say this food is delicious and literally the best Mexican food I’ve tried in Toronto. I tried so many Mexican restaurants and just a few are kinda good, but man! This restaurant nailed the Mexican flavour 1000%. I’ve tried almost the whole menu and I recently tried the new breakfast dishes. And oh my goodness!!! They’re so freaking good!!! I highly recommend them!!! I also want to share that not only do they have high quality food but the staff are so kind!!! My husband was craving rice with his enchiladas and the owner was so sweet by asking the staff to make some for him!!! Like who does that !!?? Literally the best staff ever.

It was recommended to me by Mexican friends. I just tried this place and the tacos are delicious. Great atmosphere with live Mexican Mariachi music on a Saturday night so the vibe was nice and casual. Pictures were of the tacos that we tried...the favs were the battered shrimp and Chorizo tacos. Would definitely go back.

We had heard so much about this place that we decided to try it on date night. Oh boy, did it not disappoint! We started with an extra cheesy nachos plate. The nachos were loaded with cheese and topped with juicy pastor meat. It was clear that the chef knows how to handle meat properly. For our main course, we ordered picana tacos and a gobernador. Everything was delicious and perfectly prepared. We left the restaurant with a container full of leftover nachos, a belly full of great food, and a wonderful experience. Next time I won’t drive so I can try some alcoholic cocktails. No wonder it’s so popular. The ambiance, the staff, the food, the drinks—everything screams authenticity and a good time. 100% Mexican approved

This welcoming restaurant has swiftly gained a reputation for serving up authentic Mexican fare that tugs at the heartstrings of anyone missing home or simply seeking comfort food. The former site of the Dominion bar has transformed into a lively eatery adorned with eyes-catching artwork, and the cosmic lighting adds an enchanting atmosphere that recalls the charm of childhood bowling alleys.

Los Gyros excels in curating a laid-back environment, perfect for hanging out with friends or enjoying a casual meal. Reviews from customers echo praises about the friendly staff and swift service. Diners appreciate the spacious layout, which includes lounge seating for those looking to sip on drinks and unwind.

The menu is a treasure trove for taco enthusiasts. With standout items like the arrachera taco and an assortment of flavors that spans pork, chorizo, and even beef tongue, each taco is a premium delight that tantalizes the taste buds. The tacos come well-seasoned, and the addition of fresh pineapple to the pork variant elevates its sweetness, striking a perfect balance of flavors. An intriguing weekday special allows you to indulge more when you buy one taco and get another free, enhancing the overall dining experience.

Of course, one cannot overlook the accompanying sauces. Customers rave about the creamy guacamole and a delightful fruity sauce that adds a unique twist to every bite. However, not every dish hits the mark; reviewers noted that the mushroom and cactus leaf taco fell flat in flavor compared to its counterparts. But with such an extensive menu, there are plenty of other treasures to savor.

The drinks complement the food beautifully. While many guests have yet to try the cocktails, eager anticipation fills the air as patrons imagine the perfect pairing of a Mexican beer cocktail with the tantalizing tacos. And for those with a sweet tooth, the chocoflan is an indulgent finish, a must-try according to regular visitors.

Los Gyros isn’t just another Mexican restaurant in Toronto; it’s a culinary retreat where each dish narrates a story of tradition. Whether you come for the incredible tacos or simply to take in the relaxing vibe, Los Gyros promises an experience that is both memorable and satisfying.
